FOOD: pancake tower with blueberries & chocolate.

[en] hi peeps! you might already have discovered these beautiful and artistic pancake towers topped with loads and loads of beautiful fruits, chunks of chocolate and different sauces which totally overflow social media, especially instagram and which really make your mouth water. definitely #foodporn at its best!

some time ago i decided to try the creation of a pancake tower myself and i can say ... it was definitely worth doing it. le boy and me really indulged in this celebration of calories - a feast for the eyes as well as the pallete!

if you want to try it out yourself, you should definitely stop counting calories. you would feel too miserable and that would be a pity regarding the culinary delight.

it also doesn't take much longer than making the actual pancakes and it's great fun to get artistic in terms of decoration while having the smell of freshly baked pancakes in your nose ... mmmmmmh!

so here's what you need:

  • 200g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pck. baking powder
  • 1 pck. vanilla sugar
  • milk (drawn by eye - the dough shouldn't be too firm and not too liquid)
  • fruits of your choice (i have chosen blueberries, but raspberries would definitely work, too)
  • buttercream or whipped cream
  • syrup or sauce of your choice (i have chosen monin dark chocolate syrup)

and this is what you have to do:

  1. beat the egg white until stiff.
  2. mix all the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl.
  3. add milk to the dry ingredients – you should act with sound judgement. the dough shouldn't be too firm and not too liquid. if it is too liquid the dough won't firm up.
  4. gently fold the beaten egg white in your dough and add some blueberries afterwards.
  5. heat a bit of sunflower or canola oil in a small pan.
  6. add the dough. turn the dough around when it gets bubbles. bake the other side until it is golden brown.
  7. stack the finished pancakes on a representable plate. you can add buttercream or whipped cream between the pancakes to get more stability.
  8. now it's time to get artistic! you can decorate your pancake tower with fruits of your choice. berries are always a good choice. add chocolate chunks, coconut flakes etc. - round off this #foodporn deluxe by spreading chocolate sauce or a syrup of your choice all over your pancake tower. - it's all a matter of taste!
bon appetit!

bon appetit!
