SHOOTING: your world is too mainstream so i created my own.

these are the best pictures from my alice in wonderland shooting with joe from foto speyer (click). i wanted to represent hipster alice - can you recognize her? i really love all those hipster disney princesses, you might also have recognized that. i'm very much into that topic haha. to work that out i chose a blue dress in a classic shape, white pearl earrings, nerd glasses, white stockings and mary janes and i think that i look quite authentic - what do you think? well this shooting was really a whole bunch of fun, i think you can see it in the pics :D

shooting: alice at court.

i'm a big fan of alice's adventures in wonderland - especially the book, written by lewis carroll (i'm so grateful for this story, he is a genius!), but also of the various film versions: disney's animated cartoon of 1951 and also of the latest film version by tim burton from 2010, starring johnny depp and mia wasikowska. 

i really adored the costumes alice wore in the course of the film - and especially this dress she wore at the court of the queen of hearts, the latter played by helena bonham carter (also a genious, i love her, also as bellatrix lestrange in the harry potter films!)

this wonderful dress creation in red and black and white, with layers and layers of tulle, the phenomenal petticoat and the playing card design is fabulous! a long time i dreamed of making an alice in wonderland shooting, and i really wanted to have this fabulous dress for this special occasion! and i found it. OMG i really found it, and it was way too expensive ... but i didn't care, haha ... i just thought that i'd make this shooting and resell the dress afterwards.

my photographer joe (click), who also made the holi colour shooting (click) and the one with the balloons and the pink dress (click), took photos of me in the castle garden of the rokoko castle in schwetzingen - which is a very beautiful location for photo shootings or simply a little stroll on a sunny day.

my first photo book / sedcard / model book ♥

some days ago i received my very first photobook. my father had won a voucher for an albelli photobook recently. he gave the code to me and adviced me to make a booklet with the best shots from my previous fashion shootings. i believed that this was a quite nice idea so i heeded it and there it is! i think it looks quite nice. the quality is good and the cover is quite fashionable. i'm very pleased. the book features photos from cw foto (click), foto speyer (click) and itechkast photography (click).

SHOOTING: so you colour the river with words.

... is it strange that you can feel that those warm days will all be gone in a short while? i am 25, but some days ago i felt autumn in the wind and the smell of air promised that it is coming soon. so why autumn? ... everytime i meteorologically realize autumn i get a bit sentimental or also melancholic - i need to bathe more often so i can grasp the soothing warmth of bygone summerdays for a little while. i have liked that feeling when i was younger but i don't like it anymore.

it is strange to feel autumn in oneself. i only remember my mum to recognize autumn in the smell of air or the feeling in a breeze. and i simply never could understand how she did that or why she could do that. her explanation: 'i'm old. old people can realize things which younger ones cannot understand'. so how could i analyze what i felt? i'm getting old ... 

and what can you do against feeling old, or autumn-induced melancholy in your heart? you recognize summer, warmth and bright and happy, colourful days.
there is nothing better to celebrate this (holi-)feeling.

shooting: location check with itechkast ♥

some days ago me and my photographer, sabine from itechkast, had a location check in mannheim. we went to the mannheim castle, which is simultaneously the place where the university of mannheim is located. we checked out places for our next shooting, where we will take photos of this dress - it might be a trash the dress shooting but i don't know if i want to trash that beautiful dress yet. what do you think ?! but i'm sure that it will be fun, no matter what we will do actually - just like this time, where we already made a spontaneous and short shooting, for example with the beautiful magnolia tree outside the castle - you can see them below. i wore my orange dress and my blue blazer from H&M, my ostrich leather bag from italy, vintage earrings and a selfmade ring which you can also find here. there are some nice spots in the castle - it would be fantastic if we also had the possibility to take some photos in the museum, because there are also amazing spots, you can check them out here. i'm SO looking forward to the next shooting, i'm sure it will be loads of fun!

portraits - nostalgia.

before i started blogging i already hat a faible for photography - i started with photography at a very young age ... i must have been 13 or so. i liked to take photos of myself in different outfits or in different shades of colour, or of other people and things. i always loved art and creativity - and, well, i think you'll see these aspects in the following photographies! these are all self portraits - some were shot out of very egocentric reasons, others were part of art projects for school, and others were shot at festive dinners or in a moment i simply didn't notice that somebody took a photo of me. some photographies are more than 10 years old, and it's also a history of my different hairstyles ... that's why these portraits are somewhat 'nostalgic' - i was young, then. haha.

1000 faces of the sea.

now i feel like in the picture you see at the top of this post. dark. grey. white. i'm devastated and i must hold myself at fault for this - no one but me. and i want to die when i think about what i've lost in life - so often. but now, it matters for the very first time ... but when i think about the faces of the sea, this neverending watery story, this infinity, i'm able to revive my inner mental security, my faith in life - and love.

so what is it about - this life. what's it about? what are we craving for, what are we hoping for? what are we suffering for? what's it for? ... lately i've wondered about how old i felt when i was 17. i've been longing for home, so long. when i was young i already felt so old. i wanted to get rid of everything i needed to endure. i wanted to flee this world - so hopeless and feverishly i sought for life in every corner of every second but i never found it entirely. i've never found it in reading in lives of others or inventing them or myself in poetry and art and storys. i lost myself in a twinkle of fate in the darkest shadows i roamed in for many years, many years ... i lost myself in you - oh love, love of my life. you created something new in this, my very lost soul, you gave it wings to fly above my imagination. you brought me into the breaking dawn - a new morning. hopefully, i'll never let you go - my dear, you ... you - my eternal significant other.

the cats of guardamar (and other animals).

... well the town really seemed to be crowded with cats - no joke! i've never seen something comparable to this. you looked out of the window: you saw a cat. you went for a walk in the town: you saw a dozen of them. you just walked alongside the bay: you saw dozens of them. but i really love cats. but i must also say that i suspect many of them to be strays. many of those cats we saw on our several walks through the city looked quite desolate ... 

... but there were many more of our kitty friends! and other lovely animals. birds and dogs and peacocks etc. - in parks, at the bay (haha you REALLY haven't seen such lovely birds in your life, for sure). some of them were quite crazy. well there was the peacock who ate out of the palm of my hand (video just at the bottom of this post! ♥), and crazy horny male pigeons chasing after female ones - no joke! ... i've seen it XD
