LOOKBOOK: Das Meermädchen | Kaftan in Ultramarinblau und Floppy Hat in Schwarz.

Anzeige | Ich bin ein Meermädchen. An wohl keinem anderen Ort fühle ich mich so wohl wie hier. Immer neu ist der Tanz der Wellen und des Wassers, welches mit dem Farbenspiel des Himmels eine ewig vertraute Einheit bildet. Nirgendwo fühle ich mich freier und überschäumend von Energie und Tatendrang. Hier kann ich aufatmen und meine Gedanken in die Ferne schweifen lassen.

Mit dem Geruch von feuchtem Tang in meiner Nase.
Mit dem Geschmack der salzigen Luft auf den Lippen.
Mit dem Horizont - so nah und doch so fern.

Das Meer ist Endlosigkeit und immerwährende Erneuerung. Das Meer ist wie das Leben - immer neu und ewig vertraut. So, wie es auch die Liebe sein sollte. Die Richtige. Die Beste.

Hier, wo jeder Tag wie der erste vom Rest meines Lebens scheint, kann ich Kraft schöpfen.

SHOOTING: All dolled up | Plisséekleid in Blush & Blumenromantik im Rosengarten.

Das Leben ist bezaubernd - man muss es nur durch die richtige Brille sehen. Das wusste schon Alexandre Dumas. Meine eigene ist rosarot, und mit Freuden trage ich sie auch in den Schattierungen der Kleider an meinem Körper.

Die Vollblüte der Rosen und das bezaubernde Wetter prädestinierten die neuen Fotos, die mit meinem Lieblingsfotografen Florian vor kurzem im Rosenneuheitengarten in Baden-Baden entstanden sind.
Die Rosen standen aufgrund der sehr milden Wetterverhältnisse und fehlender Stürme und schwerer Regenfälle in noch vollerer und schönerer Blüte als im vergangenen Jahr und die üppige Blumenpracht lud einfach dazu ein, sich in deren Mitte zu platzieren.

In meinem Kleid von Chicwish in zartem Blush fühle ich mich wie eine Prinzessin und die märchenhafte Location ist dafür mehr als passend. Das Kleid sorgt vielleicht beim ein oder anderen für Deja Vu Erlebnisse, trug ich es doch bereits für die Hochzeit meiner Mum, die im Jahre 2014 stattfand. Mehr als 4 Jahre ist es nun her und das Glück ist noch größer geworden, als es damals schon war. Es erfüllt mich mit Glück, dass es den liebsten Menschen in meinem Umfeld so gut geht - und mein eigenes, persönliches Glück setzt dem Ganzen dann noch das obligatorische Krönchen auf.

Advertorial | Ich liebe Business Mode im Sinne von eleganten, fließenden Hosenanzügen, perfekt geschnittenen Blazern & glamourösen Etuikleidern schon seit ich denken kann, daher bin ich ganz verzückt, dass dieses Jahr im Zeichen eben dieser Mode steht. Tolle Hosenanzüge in gewagten Farben und eleganten Schnitten findet man en Masse in den Modeboutiquen. Ich selbst wurde dieses Jahr fündig mit diesem wunderbaren schwarzen Blazer von René Lézard, den ich Second Hand erstanden habe & der jedes noch so einfache Outfit sofort aufhübscht.

Die Mini Pochette war ein Geschenk meiner lieben Freundin A. zu meinem letzten Geburtstag und ich liebe sie! Die kleinsten Designer-Gadgets werten sofort jedes noch so einfache Outfit auf ... wobei ich hier doch ein bisschen mehr in die Styling-Kiste gegriffen habe und der heutige Look inclusive Leder und Metallic Kleid wahrscheinlich kein bisschen casual wirkt. Aber, so what ;) More ist more - das war schon immer meine Devise!

Wie findet ihr Business-Mode? Wie tragt ihr eure Blazer & Hosenanzüge am liebsten?

SHOOTING: DAS It-Shirt von Gucci, Damier Azur, Karo-Blazer, Leder & Adidas Sneaker.

Meine Lieben! Ich hoffe ihr hattet ein schönes Pfingstfest und eine schöne Zeit mit euren Lieben. Ich habe spontan entschieden, für ein paar Tage nach Rügen zu fahren, um noch die verbleibenden Ferientage zu nutzen, um dann mit neugewonnener Kraft wieder in die neue Arbeitswoche zu starten. 

Zuvor wollte ich es dennoch nicht versäumen, euch ein neues Outfit zu zeigen, das derzeit zu meinen liebsten zählt (wenn es denn nicht unbedingt so extrem schwül ist, wie in den letzten, vergangenen Tagen). Es sieht glamourös und edel aus, ist aber dennoch lässig und vor allem komfortabel zu tragen - meine liebste Kombination!

Die Adidas Sneaker besitze ich schon seit etlichen Jahren und liebe sie, weil man in ihnen wie auf Wolken läuft. Der Blazer war ein Schmuckstück, das ich zu einem absoluten Spottpreis in einem Vintage Store in Baden-Baden habe ergattern können - einer der Gründe, weshalb ich es liebe, hier shoppen zu gehen!

Allerdings empfinde ich es als Irrsinn, 390€ für ein simples weißes T-Shirt mit Druck zu bezahlen. Ebenso wie 1395EUR für eine Tasche aus dem Jahre 2017 zu blechen, die der IKEA Einkaufstüte aus billigstem Plastik glich oder dem neuesten Mode-'Streich' aus dem Hause Balenciaga, bei welchem für den Unentschlossenen Fashion-Victim ein T-Shirt mit einem Hemd zusammengenäht für 1290$ verkauft wird.

Das T-Shirt aus dem heutigen Outfit Post ist also nicht das unglaublich tolle Original von Gucci, sondern DIY. Ich habe es ganz einfach mit Transferfolie und einem H&M Shirt selbst hergestellt. Wer es nachmachen will: Grafiken findet ihr en Masse im Netz. Damit habe ich ein vielfaches weniger bezahlt und erziele dennoch den gewünschten WOW-Effekt. 

Pluspunkt: man kann das Gesparte in andere Dingen investieren - z.B. eine Reise an die beeindruckenden Kreidefelsen auf Rügen und ein Zimmer mit Meerblick im Grand Hotel. Collect moments, not things!

Wenn schon Designerteile, dann sollten sie für sich stehen und - am besten - eine Investition fürs Leben sein, wie meine Damier Azur Speedy 30 von Louis Vuitton. Sie steigt Jahr für Jahr im Wert und so schnell gebe ich die sicherlich auch nicht wieder her ;)

Meine Lieben! Ich hoffe ihr hattet einen schönen Start in die verkürzte Arbeitswoche und schöne Pfingsten verlebt. Ich bin immer noch dabei, die DSGVO umzusetzen, aber fast fertig mit allem (und auch gespannt, wie es nun weiter geht) - mit Bedauern musste ich feststellen, dass eine liebe Freundin von mir ihren Blog nun aufgegeben hat, wenngleich auch aus sehr vernünftigen Gründen, die nicht zwangsläufig mit der DSGVO etwas zu tun hatten. Dennoch glaube ich, dass Etliche aus Angst vor Abmahnungen das Blogger-Handtuch werfen werden ... 

Wie geht es euch mit der Thematik, zwei Tage vor Ende der Deadline?

Was mich allerdings derzeit mehr beschäftigt (und beschäftigt hält) ist meine berufliche Neuorientierung (wozu ich mehr schreibe, wenn erst mal alles unter Dach und Fach ist), ein neues Projekt auf Youtube mit einem sehr talentierten Musiker, dem ich bereits seit Jahren begeistert folge (und welches ich euch natürlich auch mehr erzählen werde, wenn es Neues gibt), und mein neuer Literaturkanal @sie.ist auf Instagram, auf dem ich selbst verfasste Wortakrobatiken in Deutscher und Englischer Sprache veröffentliche. Wie ihr vielleicht (durch Lektüre meiner Profilvorstellung) wisst, habe ich meine ersten Erfahrungen im Blogbereich mit einem Literaturblog gesammelt, den ich bereits lange vor Strangeness and Charms ins Leben gerufen habe, und der denselben Namen trug wie mein neuer Instagram Channel.

Dort bin ich jetzt seit ein paar Tagen dabei und zähle bereits 76 Abonnenten, was mich doch sehr mit Stolz erfüllt, da es mir zeigt, dass mein Geschreibsel manchen Menschen erreicht und etwas in ihm anrührt. Das ist ein herrliches Gefühl, da mein Buch "Das Herz ist ein Organ aus Feuer" nicht wirklich gezündet hat (... was womöglich auch an fehlendem Marketing-Geschick lag XD). Ich freue mich, wenn ihr mal vorbeischaut und mir eure Meinungen hinterlasst!

Gedanken zum ... DSGVO Wahnsinn | French Chic mit Dorothy Perkins, Closet London & Louis Vuitton.

Meine Lieben - nach 6 Jahren des Bloggens habe ich mich dazu entschieden, mich auf meinem Blog mehr auf die Deutsche Sprache zu fokussieren. Das ist allerdings nicht die einzige Neuerung, die auf Strangeness and Charms zukommt.

Am Sonntag habe ich mich weiter mit dem leidigen Thema der neuen DSGVO (Datenschutzgrundverordnung der Europäischen Union) befasst, bin aber bei Weitem noch nicht durch. Das Thema (und dessen Umsetzung) beschäftigt mich bereits seit einigen Wochen - wie sieht es bei euch aus?

Dresscode or not?

Despite the popular stereotype of women with broad-brimmed hats and cocktail dresses there isn't a real dresscode which enables you to visit a horse racing. 80% of the visitors stick to their leisure-time style. You should feel comfortable – that's the main thing.

Nevertheless it's fun to dress up in an elegant cocktail dress or a nice suit. Ladies can of course complete their elegant horse racing look with a complement hat. Especially when it comes to highly remunerated races (for example at the first Grand Prix race taking place on the 2^nd of September 2018 or at the Great Week taking place from the 25^th of August until the 2^nd of September 2018).

Generally speaking we can conclude that no other social event (associated with sports) has a greater focus on fashion – especially in terms of elegant ladies robed in cocktail dresses and their amazing aigrettes.

Especially if you think of the LONGINES PRIZE FOR ELEGANCE taking place on the 2^nd of September 2018 where the most elegant female visitor of the final racing day is receiving a prize.

160 years of horse racing in Baden-Baden/Iffezheim.

2018 marks a special year in terms of horse racing in Iffezheim and Baden-Baden. Its racecourse is going to turn 160 this year!

What better reason could there be to dress up? So get out your most beautiful dresses and matching hat and come to Baden-Baden to celebrate this special occasion. There's no limit in getting creative with your headgear – no matter if it's small and elegant or big and splendorous: anything goes!

[en] Winter is drawing to an end and the beauty of nature will bloom once again. First stirrings are already visible as the crocus flowers are blossoming again in the Lichtentaler Allee in Baden-Baden and the first cafés have already placed their tables and chairs outside.

The pictures from todays post were shot some days ago, when it still was icy cold in Baden-Baden. Nevertheless you were able to feel the sun becoming stronger again. On sunny days I can feel myself blooming like the flowers in spring. And warmth - oh how my soul is longing for it. I can't wait for spring - although I would be more happy to spend these beautiful days with a loving man by my side. But the bible has already known that 'for everything there is a season'. And I'm waiting patiently.

Todays look features the colours red and silver for a reason. In my opinion silver (or grey) is the colour of winter. Red is synonymous with warmth, and spring is the beginning of warmer days.
I wanted to depict the end of winter and the beginning of spring in this outfit - and I think that I succeeded.
Most of my outfits components are Vintage finds from my mum and online Second Hand store, but nevertheless I was able to find some similar pieces to make it quite easy for you guys to shop my look.

[en] My mum introduced me to the world of fashion very early. She had somewhat been my first fashion icon – a long time before Coco Chanel stepped into my life!

She always had a very elegant appearance and looked classy all the time – even though she hadn't worn just a few designer pieces. She also had loads of pieces in her wardrobe which had bought 10 – 20 years before, and she styled them with newly bought pieces or flea market finds. And by doing so, she created a unique, classy, luxurious yet affordable look.

Of course everybody wants to know how to look expensive yet don't wear down their wallets. Today I want to give you some hints on how to achieve that.

[en] Some days ago i crossed that notorious age border and lined up in the group of the so called 'Thirtysomethings'.

Crossing the border – fears about social conventions, the future and self-doubt.

Of course i contemplated about this very special age in advance and about the social conventions concomitant with it.

I must admit that there was a whole lot of fear inside of me when i thought about this whole new chapter of my life. And this fear was accompanied by a whole lot of doubt and frustration regarding my surroundings and my life. I guess that the latter emerged because of my last relationship which turned out as a complete failure. Once again.

[en] my lovely readers, i'm wishing you a merry christmas time and wonderful moments with your favourite people, loads of fun and great food! i will be driving home for christmas tomorrow to spend christmas day with my family in gießen. how will you celebrate christmas '17?

once again we will have no white christmas in germany, thus i want to help you out with todays outfit post – we took these crystal magic photos some time ago in the vast gardens of schloss favorite near baden-baden.

this year i also became a bit reconciled with the cold seasons. might be because of the fact that i stopped smoking some months ago and that since then it takes some time until i start to feel the cold. or maybe it's because i feel more comfortable with my life and with what i have already achieved and that i know what i still want to achieve.

maybe it's some kind of catharsis. I'm excited when i think about the new year. i'm curious to get to know it, alongside with all the new impressions which i will be able to experience. it will also be a new and big chapter in my life, because i will finally turn 30. oh, how the time flies. sometimes this thought scares me. but then again i believe that every year offers you an account which 8760 hours in the red and you should live these hours to the fullest and seize everyday as good as you can. i swore to myself that i will do it just like this. that's my only New Years' resolution. Although … to find THE one and to travel as much as possible is of course comprised in it.

[en] hi peeps! as i have mentioned in my previous post i already know what i'll wear for christmas this year. today i want to show you my personal christmas look. my new LBD from closet london definitely is the key piece of this years outfit. i immediately fell in love with it because it's super elegant, yet also very comfy and thus perfect to hide away a little christmas tummy ;)

i will spend the holidays with my family in gießen and i'm already looking forward to enjoying the obligatory christmas goose and all the other yummy treats - and of course also a little bit of karaoke XD

this year i will be responsible for the christmas dessert. inspired by the beautiful blog belle mélange by mona and sarah i will bake puff pastry pears - check out their blog, it's totally worth it!

[en] sponsored - bouclé definitely ranges among my favourite fashion fabrics (alliteration alert! XD) and of course my favourite fashion icon coco is responsible for that. and if this beautiful fabric is coloured in shades of pink (and white) i couldn't be any happier! i'm also in love with the beautiful pearl details.

i have combined it with my favourite faux leather leggings, vintage and gem stone jewellery and my favourite red book bag (which you might already have seen in my posting about the perfect horse racing look).

and of course chanel jewellery and chanel make-up musn't be left out in an outfit which should be a hommage to coco chanel!

[en] the musée de l'orangerie is a magical place located in the beautiful parisian jardin des tuileries and houses some of the most incredible impressionist artworks, not forgetting the enchanting nymphéas by claude monet in two oval-shaped exhibition rooms.

todays shooting photos were taken within one of these showrooms. i really love the works of claude monet and his nymphéas, or water lilies, range among my most beloved impressionist artworks. luckily i have worn a matching dress this day - sometimes whilst looking at the outcome i cannot mark the beginning of my dress or the painting in the background ... i like that thought because it also reflects my understanding about fashion as an artform - thus i believe that my outfit choice must have been planned by my subconscious.

TRAVEL: paris undiscovered - my top ten places to visit in the city.

[en] paris ranges among my most beloved places on earth and it definitely has much more to offer than the eiffel tower. today i want to show you my top ten places in paris not every tourist might be aware of. good food and drinks included!

OUTFIT: white ruffle blouse, destroyed jeans & floral wedges.

[en] hi peeps! i love to wear floral prints all year and not only in the spring and summer season. todays outfit is one of my favourite 'uniforms' this fall season. i instantly feel comfortable in my glamorous white ruffle blouse and the light blue destroyed jeans. of course a sophisticated pop of colour is inevitable in most of my outfits and this time i chose a pair of floral print wedges. the best: they are super comfy!

do you also have a seasonal uniform with which you instantly feel comfy and beautiful?

OUTFIT: a walk in baden-baden.

[en] baden-baden is perfect for long walks - for example along the lichtentaler allee with the gönneranlage and its rose garden and the beautiful dahlia garden. and the city doesn't lose its charm, even when it rains.

but baden-baden offers a whole lot more to see, for example the kurhaus with its extensive gardens and the theatre and trinkhalle, which are stunning examples of classicistic architecture.

on these warm and sunny autumn days i love to wear my blush coloured and ruffled dorothy perkins blouse and my light blue destroyed jeans.
